We are much obliged to you and your department for giving an exposure of ‘Green Mussel’ farming in Padne and nearby villages through ASIANET .
Out of the numerous calls received I could learn that it had given the poor coastal population a new inspiration and hope for the future. The callers were mainly Malayalis from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Two calls from Calcutta and one from Bombay. Besides these, lots of greetings through phone and SMS
The callers include:
a) Govt. Depts.
b) Exporters and Traders
c) Prospective farmers and well wishers
(I) Govt. Depts such as CMFRI-Kochi who offered know-how and equipments for sea farming and MPEDA-Kochi who offered financial help for poor farmers.
(II) Exporters, pickle manufacturers and traders who are willing to buy from us.
(III)Our MLA offered his help to acquire maximum benefit from fisheries ministry for making infra structural facilities such as depurations, processing center, cold storage and ice factory. Our MP offered his help to bring our seed problem before the Central Government and to solve the barricade for exporting to European Union.
The majority of the callers were new comers who want my help to start new venture of mussel farming. Most of them will be visiting me for getting elaborate literature of farming.
